Re-opening & Guidelines(10.06.2023)

Dear Parents,
Aum Namashivaya!

❖ With Amma’s grace and your kind co-operation we are going to start the new academic year
2023-2024.
❖ The school will re-open on June 12th for classes VI to IX & XI.
❖ The students should report to school by 8.35 am and the school closes by 3.45 pm.
❖ Buses will ply in all routes as usual.
❖ New admission students’ parents can meet AO sir regarding transport details.

GENERAL GUIDELINES TO THE PARENTS
Amrita Vidyalayam is a school that places values of life at the helm of education. We follow
‘dharma’ as the guiding principle and try to inculcate the same in our children to lead a
‘dharmic life’. We request all the parents of our Vidyalayam to join hands with the
management and teaching fraternity to nurture self discipline and academic culture among
our students.

DRESS CODE – BOYS
❖ Jeans, low waist pants, shorts and short shirts should be avoided.
❖ Hair must be kept clean and tidy at all times and should be trimmed at regular intervals.
❖ The length of the hair should not be touching the collar of the shirt and should be off the
face at all times.
❖ The school bag and lunch bag must have the name of the student written initial along with
the mobile number.
❖ Nails must be trimmed every week.

DRESS CODE – GIRLS
❖ Hair should be neatly combed, plaited and tied with white bands on Wednesdays and with
peach bands on all other working days.
❖ Girls with short hair should tie the hair on both sides with white bands on Wednesdays and
with peach bands on all other working days.
❖ Nails must be trimmed every week.
❖ Long nails and nail polish should be avoided.
❖ Gold and fancy jewelry, second studs, earrings with hangings and anklets are strictly
prohibited.
❖ A small silver stud is allowed.

FOOD AND SNACKS
❖ Encourage healthy breakfast, snacks and give home cooked vegetarian food in your wards
Tiffin. Consumption of non-vegetarian food is strictly prohibited with in the campus.
❖ A napkin (towel) must be brought along with the Tiffin box.
❖ Avoid oily food and junk food.
❖ You are requested to follow the snacks timetable provided below:
MONDAY – SALAD
TUESDAY – STEAMED FOOD
WEDNESDAY – BANANA/APPLE/ANY FRUITS
THURSDAY – SPROUTS/BOILED GRAM (SUNDAL)
FRIDAY – NUTS/DRY FRUITS

GENERAL DISCIPLINE
The school lays great emphasis on discipline. The following are regarded as a breach of school
discipline:
❖ Parents are required to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their children
progress by paying attention to their attendance, punctuality and discipline and to take
interest in their child’s work.
❖ Parents are also requested to ensure that their wards do not bring gifts except to offer for
distribution on birthdays. Peanut candy, Sesame seed jaggery balls are allowed.
❖ No gift to the teacher or any other staff is allowed. (Even on birthdays, Children’s day,
Teacher’s day, etc.) If interested, the child may donate a book to the school library.
❖ Enquire about your child’s progress at least once a month. In the interest of the security
and safety of your ward, parents are requested to adhere with the following guidelines issued
by School Management.
❖ Parents of the students who avail private transport should instruct the drivers not to divert
the routes at any cost and the driver must drop the students directly at their homes.
❖ Parents of children using private vans / rickshaws should ensure that the drivers have
proper Police Verification / Police Clearance Certificate and other relevant documents.
❖ It is mandatory to intimate the school authorities regarding any change in Address and
phone No.Of the parents.
❖ Students are not allowed to go to their home in between the school hours. In-case of emergency
one of the parents or the authorized guardian (photo attestation must be done) should come
to pick up their ward from the school. Avoid sending elder siblings or any other relatives.
❖ In-case your ward’s designated private van is not coming on a certain day and parents are
coming to pick up their ward, the school must be informed by the parents in writing through
a separate application in advance. Parents should direct their ward to wait at the school
reception.
❖ Parents who come to pick their wards are advised to come 10 minutes before or on time to
pick their wards to avoid them leaving unattended.
❖ Considering the safety measures of your ward, we request you to share the name, mobile
number and photo of the parent or guardian or relative or whoever is taking care of the
child’s transportation from home to school and vice-versa.
